Occupational Therapy/Hand Therapy

Occupational therapists help people who have been ill or injured continue to be independent at home, work, school and in the community. People with physical, mental, developmental and emotional disabilities also can learn to be self-sufficient in their day-to-day activities through occupational therapy.

Common reasons for seeking occupational therapy are:
  • Stroke and other neurological problems
  • Hand injuries
  • Overuse injuries such as tennis elbow or carpal tunnel
  • Post-surgical (i.e. carpal tunnel, hand fractures)
  • Orthopedic problems/arthritis
  • Issues with activities of daily living (i.e. bathing, dressing, feeding)
