Hospital Sisters of St. Francis St. Francis devoted himself to solitude, prayer and service to the poor. He is not just an historical figure but continues to be the guiding spirit for Hospital Sisters health care endeavors. The Sisters compassionate care for the poor, outcast and oppressed is the Franciscan spirit. The
Hospital Sisters are women who have dedicated their lives to and for the love of Christ Jesus, and to our brothers and sisters in Christ. Public vows made to God, through the church and community, are the manifestation of a life of simplicity and service to the sick and poor. Commitment to this life is the expression of the Franciscan spirit. As Franciscan religious, we strive to live the spirit of St. Francis of Assisi by living simply, loving honestly and humbly serving one another and all of God's people. This is why many of us entered and this is why we stay.
